Green Furniture Sweden, electric car test driver
The first thing we did when I got home with the car was to go with the whole family down to the harbour to eat supper and ice cream in the sun. It felt quite special. An electric car attracts a lot of attention.
I have a burning interest in the environment and it’s very
exciting to be a test household. The car is extremely quiet and mobile at city speeds. And the top speed is 130 km/h, so it’s fast enough for the motorway. The cost is much lower; electricity costs two kronor per mile.
In three years’ time, our own car will have clocked up
20,000 miles and it will probably be time to replace it. I believe and hope the electric car market will then be mature so we can switch to an electric car.
• In the E-mobility project the City of Malmö and E.ON are working together to develop a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Testing of electric bicycles, mopeds and cars by domestic households are a part of the project and will increase the knowledge of how electric vehicles can be used in Malmö.
• An electric car is silent and without pollution, and if powered by renewable electricity produces almost no CO2 emissions at all. Even with regular Swedish electricity the emissions are much lower than from a normal car.
